ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis YMCA invitee alleges he ruptured his Achilles tendon in a fall in the locker room caused by liquid on the floor.

Micheal English filed a complaint on Aug. 31 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Gateway Region Young Men's Christian Association, doing business as YMCA, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on July 25, 2016, the plaintiff was lawfully on defendant's property and was caused to slip and fall on liquid that had accumulated on the locker room floor. He alleges he suffered injuries to his right Achilles tendon, head, neck and back as a result of the fall and needed surgery.

The plaintiff holds Gateway Region Young Men's Christian Association responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to install slip-resistant flooring in the locker room and failed to have mats, rugs or any items that would prevent slip and falls in the locker room.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in a fair and reasonable amount of more than $25,000 with interest, and costs. He is represented by Reiad M. Khouri of Khouri Law Firm in St. Louis and Nolan Drafahl of Drafahl Law Firm in St. Louis.
