ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis resident alleges she was injured by bricks that fell off a neighboring property and struck her.

Maple Hargrove filed a complaint on Sept. 5 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against St. Louis Redevelopment Co. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 24, 2015, she was picking up her grandchildren's toys from the side of her house when bricks started falling from the chimney of the next-door property managed or owned by defendant at 2217 Alberta St. She alleges she was struck by a brick on her finger and back.

The plaintiff holds St. Louis Redevelopment Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to use ordinary care to warn of or remove the hazardous chimney from the property.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount of more than $25,000, plus costs and all other relief that is proper and just. She is represented by Stephen L. Koenig of Stephen L. Koenig & Associates in Clayton.
