ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis restaurant is being sued by a patron who alleges a mat caused her to fall.

Stacy Kim filed a complaint on Sept. 14 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Hegel's LTD alleging that the restaurant operator failed to warn of the dangerous condition.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 27, she was a patron at defendant's Hodak's restaurant and was caused to fall when the floor mat she stepped on slid across the floor. She alleges she suffered serious and painful injuries to her ankle, knee, arm, shoulder, neck and back as a result of the fall.

The plaintiff holds Hegel's LTD responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to take reasonable steps to correct the dangerous condition.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against defendant in an amount greater than $25,000, plus costs and all other relief that are just and reasonable. She is represented by Jamie L. Brooks and John P. Guletz of Rossiter & Boock LLC in St. Louis.
