ST. LOUIS – A passenger injured in a crash in Taney County allegedly caused by an uninsured driver alleges an insurance company has failed to honor the policy.
Carrie Meglio filed a complaint on Sept. 14 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against State Farm Mutual-Automobile Insurance Co. and Deandre J. Carter alleging breach of contract
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct 5, 2013, she was a passenger in an insured automobile traveling east on Roark Valley Road near its intersection with Fall Creek Road in Taney County when Carter, an uninsured driver, struck the rear of the vehicle she was riding. She alleges she suffered severe and permanent injuries to her cervical spine, lumbar spine and lower extremities as a result.
The plaintiff holds State Farm Mutual-Automobile Insurance Co. and Carter responsible because Carter allegedly drove his vehicle at an excessive speed without keeping proper lookout and without yielding to the right of way and State Farm allegedly failed and refused to honor its automobile insurance contract.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount of more than $25,000, plus costs and all other relief that are proper and just. She is represented by William K. Meehan of Meehan Law Firm in University City.
