ST. LOUIS – A dock worker alleges he was injured when the driver of the trailer he was loading drove off while he was still inside.

Timothy Dees filed a complaint on Oct. 5 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Logic Systems Sound & Lighting Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 23, 2017, he was inside the defendant's trailer to secure a load and was injured when defendant's driver negligently drove its commercial vehicle and pulled away, causing him to be thrown about and be injured. He alleges the defendant's driver drove for blocks.

He alleges suffered severe and permanent injuries neck and back and incurred medical expenses and other damages as a result.

The plaintiff holds Logic Systems Sound & Lighting Inc. responsible because the defendant's driver failed to perform pre-trip inspection and failed to make sure that the load was properly secured and that there was no one in the trailer before operating it.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for a sum of more than $25,000, plus costs and all other relief that is proper and just. He is represented by Michael P. Corrigan and Nicole Burlison Knepper of Padberg, Corrigan & Appelbaum in St. Louis.
