ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis man alleges was injured as a passenger in a collision caused by a driver who failed to turn on his headlights.

Datrell Britt filed a complaint on Oct. 5 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Damonte L. Woods alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 16, 2017, at 2:45 a.m. he was a passenger in the vehicle driven by defendant when he was injured when the defendant collided with another vehicle while attempting to make a turn from Halls Ferry Road to Canaan Avenue in St. Louis.

He alleges he sustained injuries to his cervical spine and lumbar spine and has and will continue to incur medical bills of more than $25,000.

The plaintiff holds Woods responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently operated his vehicle at an excessive speed, failed to illuminate his headlights when required and failed to yield to the right of way.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in an amount greater than $25,000 and costs. He is represented by Mathew T. Jett of Law Office of Matt Jett in St. Louis.
