ST. LOUIS – An insurance company is alleged to have failed and refused a Missouri driver's claim for damages after she was struck by an unknown driver.

Beverly Bonds filed a complaint on Oct. 4 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against American Automobile Insurance Co., doing business as AAA Insurance, alleging vexatious refusal.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 23, she was involved in an auto collision when an unknown, uninsured motorist crashed into the rear of her vehicle while she was stopped on the eastbound lane of state Route 340. She alleges she suffered injuries to her back, neck, shoulder and head.

The suit states the plaintiff was insured by the defendant at the time of the crash and made a demand for it in order to recover uninsured motorist benefits.

The plaintiff holds American Automobile Insurance Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed and refused to pay a payment as required by the policy.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in an amount greater than $25,000, with interest, costs, attorney's fees and all other relief that is appropriate. She is represented by Benjamin J. Sansone of Sansone & Lauber in Clayton.
