Daughter files wrongful death suit against Beauvais Manor Healthcare & Rehab Center over woman's care

ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis nursing facility is alleged to have failed to provide a former resident the skilled care required for a superior quality of life.

Dorothy Slaughter filed a complaint on Oct. 8 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Beauvais Manor Healthcare & Rehab Center LLC alleging wrongful death.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 23, 2017, her mother, Mary Lee Slaughter, was a resident of defendant's facility. She alleges as a result of the defendant's negligence, Mary Slaughter suffered from dehydration, renal failure, severe sepsis and death

The plaintiff holds Beauvais Manor Healthcare & Rehab Center LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate nutrition and nourishment and failed to provide necessary medication.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against defendant in a reasonable amount of more than $25,000, plus costs and all other relief that is just and proper. She is represented by Steven M. Gelfman of Hoffman & Gelfman in St. Louis.
