ST. LOUIS — A driver has filed a lawsuit against the city of St. Louis, citing alleged negligence after her vehicle allegedly was struck by a fire truck.

Regina A. Smith filed a complaint on Oct. 15, in the St. Louis Circuit Court, against the city of St. Louis, alleging that a city employee failed to keep defendant's fire engine under proper control.

The plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 16, 2016, she was traveling on Forest Park Parkway east of Grand Avenue when defendant's fire truck, driven by Nathaniel Allen, collided with her vehicle. She allegedly suffered injuries to her neck, back and right leg.

The plaintiff holds the city of St. Louis responsible because defendant's employee allegedly failed to keep proper lookout, failed to observe the flow of traffic and failed to stop, swerve or decrease speed to avoid a collision.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages in an amount in excess of $25,000, costs and all other relief deemed proper and just.

She is represented by Kevin P. Etzkorn of Kevin P. Etzkorn, Attorney at Law in St. Louis.
