Thompson Coburn LLP issued the following announcement on Nov. 28.
It is with deep sadness that Thompson Coburn recognizes the passing of our partner Gerry Sandweg, who passed away on November 25 at age 75. Gerry’s career at Thompson Coburn spanned more than 50 years. After graduating from Notre Dame Law School, where he was an editor of the Law Review, Gerry joined the Firm as an associate in 1967. He became a partner in 1973.
A skilled banking and corporate securities attorney, Gerry was a devoted professional who also served as loss prevention partner for the Firm during the 1980s and 90s. His kind and generous personality gained the respect and admiration of his colleagues throughout his many decades of service.
Beyond his work in the Firm, Gerry served as the President of the American Lung Association of Eastern Missouri. He was an avid devotee of fine arts, and shared his appreciation of music, art, history and theater with all those around him.
Gerry is survived by his daughter, Anne, his granddaughters, Charlotte and Camille, and his brother, Fr. Michael Sandweg.
