ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis resident injured in a 2013 auto accident alleges her insurers failed and refused to pay her underinsured motorist benefits.
Alissa Gorris Egan filed a complaint on Nov. 27 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Progressive Advanced Insurance Co., et al. alleging vexatious refusal to pay.
According to the complaint, on Nov. 27, 2013, the plaintiff was injured on a motor vehicle accident as a passenger due to the carelessness of an underinsured motorist. She alleges she suffered damages in an amount in excess of the tortfeasor's insurer and is seeking underinsured motorist benefits pursuant to the policy provided by the defendants.
The plaintiff holds Progressive Advanced Insurance Co., et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to and refused to make a payment as required by the policy.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against each defendants in the full amount of the policy limit of $100,000, attorney's fees, costs, interest and all further relief deemed appropriate.
