ST. LOUIS – A pedestrian is suing the city of St. Louis over allegations she injured her knee and hip in a fall caused by a hole in the sidewalk.

Kim Brand filed a complaint on Nov. 29 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against the city of St. Louis alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 17, she was walking along the sidewalk in the 3600 block of Laclede Avenue in St. Louis when she fell into a hole caused by the installation of a light/utility pole. She alleges she suffered injuries to her left knee and hip.

The plaintiff holds city of St. Louis responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently allowed a hole to exist in its sidewalk and failed to repair the hole.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against defendant in an amount of more than $25,000, plus costs. She is represented by Earl W. Hubbs of Reed & Bruhn PC in Belleville, Illinois.
