ST. LOUIS – An invitee at a St. Louis facility alleges he sustained a brain hemorrhage after falling because of liquid on the floor.

Adnan Hajdari filed a complaint on Dec. 13 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Grbic Market Inc. alleging negligence and premises liability.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 9, he attended a social gathering at defendant's premises when he slipped and fell on a liquid substance on the floor, causing him strike his head on concrete steps. He alleges he sustained head lacerations and a brain hemorrhage and incurred medical bills of more than $14,000 and lost wages of $10,000.

The plaintiff holds Grbic Market Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently allowed the liquid substance remain on the floor for a sufficient period of time and failed to barricade the area to avoid harm to its guests.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $25,000, plus costs. He is represented by Steven C. Edelman of Edelman, DeRoode, Muehleisen & Alton LLC in St. Louis.
