ST. LOUIS – A California man alleges he was injured while working in St. Louis because of an unsafe work environment.

Lawrence Berg filed a complaint on Dec. 10 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against National Railroad Passenger Corp. citing the Federal Employers' Liability Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that during the course of his employment as a train attendant with defendant from April 20, 1980, and Nov. 5, 2016, he was caused to sustain injuries to his right knee and low back. He alleges the injuries were a result of repetitive and cumulative motions.

The plaintiff holds National Railroad Passenger Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide a safe place to work, failed to provide safe appliances and safe methods for work and failed to warn him of the dangers associated with his job.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in an amount greater than $25,000, costs and all other relief to which he may be entitled. He is represented by D. Matthew Dreesen of Dreesen Law Firm LLC in Chesterfield.
