ST. LOUIS – A California resident alleges she sustained injuries to her back, neck and shoulder because of the working conditions during her employment with Amtrak.

Dolores Dowell filed a complaint on Dec. 17 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against National Railroad Passenger Corp. citing the Federal Employers' Liability Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that during the course of her employment as a chef for the defendant, she was caused to sustain severe injuries to her back, neck and right shoulder due to repetitive, cumulative motions, excessive vibrations and violent shaking in the car where she worked.

The plaintiff holds National Railroad Passenger Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide a safe place to work, failed to provide safe appliances and safe methods for work and failed to warn her of the dangers associated with her job.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in an amount greater than $25,000, costs and all other relief to which she may be entitled. She is represented by D. Matthew Dreesen of Dreesen Law Firm LLC in Chesterfield.
