ST. LOUIS – Two daughters of a former resident of a St. Louis care facility have filed a wrongful death suit over allegations it failed to prevent their mother from being injured.

Gail Clemons and Patricia Wright filed a complaint on Dec. 18 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Hillside Manor Healthcare and Rehab Center, et al. alleging wrongful death.

According to the complaint, between Oct. 2, 2013, and Feb. 24, plaintiffs' deceased mother, Rosie M. Wright, was a resident at the defendants' facility. While under the care of defendants, they allege Wright was pushed to the ground twice by another resident, resulting in injuries that required hospitalization. The suit states Wright died on May 2.

The plaintiffs hold Hillside Manor Healthcare and Rehab Center, et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to adequately monitor and supervise Wright and allowed her to be physically touched and harmed by another resident.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek all damages, with interest and all other relief that is proper and just. They are represented by Tom Wagstaff Jr. and Michelle C. Pflumm of Law Office of Tom Wagstaff Jr. LLC in Kansas City.
