ST. LOUIS – A tenant of a St. Louis apartment complex and her guest are suing the landlords of the building after they were allegedly injured by a man with a knife.

Carolyn Turner and Caprice Turner filed a complaint on Dec. 28 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against NHPMN Management LLC and Winter Garden Preservation, doing business as Winter Garden Apartments, alleging negligence and premises liability.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Aug. 1, 2018, they were at defendants' apartment complex when they were attacked with a knife by Michael Green, who entered the complex via the common front door entrance. They allege they suffered knife and other physical wounds to their bodies and were required to undergo serious and intrusive medical procedures.

The plaintiffs hold NHPMN Management LLC and Winter Garden Preservation responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to prevent dangerous people who did not belong to the complex from entering the common areas at the premises.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against defendants in an amount of more than $25,000, with interest, costs and all other relief that is just and proper. They are represented by Joseph M. Taylor of Taylor & Taylor PC in St. Louis.
