Tressler LLP continues to make its presence known nationally by opening a new office in the St. Louis Metro Area and hiring four partners: Wayne D. Skigen, Noel L. Smith Jr., Thomas Scott Stewart and Patrick W. Stufflebeam.
“A new Midwest office will help us expand our client base,” said Todd Schenk, partner and member of the Executive Committee at Tressler LLP. “We are beyond thrilled about this opportunity for growth. In addition, many of our current clients have legal needs in the St. Louis Metro Area that we will better serve with our new office and attorneys in that region.” This will be Tressler’s third office in the Midwest.

Skigen represents individuals and business entities, as plaintiffs and defendants, in a wide variety of civil matters, including complex commercial, corporate and partnership litigation, and disputes relating to acquisitions, business divorces, employment claims, real estate transactions, fiduciary duties, privacy rights, officer and director liability, distributorships, enforcement and avoidance of covenants not to compete, and buy-outs of ownership interests. He also is a trained mediator with service as a court-appointed mediator and enjoys providing mediation services in a variety of civil matters.

Noel L. Smith Jr. focuses his practice on toxic tort defense (asbestos) and general civil defense litigation. He defends complex business litigation matters, general product liability and personal injury cases through all phases of litigation from pleadings through trial. Noel’s experience includes significant court appearances in Madison County, Illinois, St. Clair County, Illinois & St. Louis, MO, primary client contact for numerous businesses and insurers in these areas of practice, and substantial settlement negotiation work.

Scott Stewart focuses his practice on business, labor and employment law, consulting with employers on a wide range of labor and employment, litigation and business matters. Representing private and public entities across a broad spectrum of industries, he handles all manner of disputes from the smallest of compliance issues to “bet-the-company” trials. He litigates business disputes, employment practices lawsuits and labor arbitrations; helps employers manage labor relations; and develops policies, practices and procedures for his clients that both comply with the law as well as enhance their operations.

Patrick W. Stufflebeam focuses his practice on the defense of civil litigation including toxic tort (asbestos, talc, and benzene), premises liability, product liability, commercial litigation, and insurance coverage issues. He also counsels clients and attorneys regarding cybersecurity and the use of technology in the law. Patrick has represented individuals, family-owned businesses and farms, and some of our country’s largest corporations.
