Car accident 06

ST. LOUIS – A suit has been filed against a St. Louis man over a fatal collision that caused the death of a 34-year-old mother last year.

Dana Beasley, individually and as next friend of minors R.D. and Z.H., heirs to Stephanie Harris, filed a complaint on Jan. 10 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Kyle Murray alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Beasley is the mother of Harris and grandmother to the minor plaintiffs. The suit states on April 26, 2018, Harris was operating a 1999 Honda CRV with Z.H. as passenger, traveling north on Hall Street in St. Louis when they were involved in a head-on collision with the defendant's vehicle. The suit states Murray crossed the center line and had diverted his attention from the road in an attempt to receive his cellphone from his pocket to answer a call.

The suit states Harris sustained fatal injuries and Z.H. suffered serious injuries that required medical treatment.

The plaintiff holds Murray responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep a proper or careful lookout, crossed the center line and failed to keep his vehicle in the southbound lanes of travel.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in a fair and reasonable amount to adequately compensate her for all damages, with interest, costs and all other relief that is just and proper. She is represented by Chad C. Lucas and Joe M. McGreevy of Kuhlman & Lucas LLC in Kansas City and James R. Cantalin of Brown & Crouppen in St. Louis.
