ST. LOUIS – A vehicle passenger alleges he sustained fractures to his sternum and ribs in a collision with a FedEx driver.

Christopher Ellison filed a complaint on Jan. 15 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Deondre Powell, FedEx Ground Package System Inc., Federal Express Corp. and Mhoondried Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 1, 2017, he was a passenger in a vehicle traveling west on Gravois Street approaching its intersection with Minnesota Avenue in St. Louis when Powell, while in the course of his employment with the defendants, proceeded into the intersection and collided with the vehicle the plaintiff was in.

As a result of the impact, the suit states the plaintiff was taken by an ambulance to a hospital and diagnosed with fractures to his sternum and ribs.

The plaintiff holds Powell, et al. responsible because Powell allegedly failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to stop at the stop sign and failed to yield to the right of way.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in a fair and reasonable amount greater than $25,000, and all other relief deemed just and proper. He is represented by Kelsy Simon Vollmer of Devereaux, Stokes, Fernandez & Leonard PC in St. Louis.
