ST. LOUIS – A motor vehicle passenger alleges a cab driver violated a red light before striking the vehicle in which she was riding.

Leonora Brown filed a complaint on Feb. 4 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against James Patrick Herter and Makak-2 LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 15, 2018, she was a passenger in a motor vehicle driven by Alfred Weaver traveling east on Chestnut at its intersection with North Eighth Street in St. Louis when Herter, who was employed and was driving a cab owned by Makak-2, entered the intersection and collided with their vehicle.

The plaintiff holds Herter and Makak-2 LLC responsible because defendant Herter allegedly failed to keep a proper lookout and negligently entered the intersection with a red light.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants in a sum exceeding $25,000, plus costs and all other relief deemed necessary and just. She is represented by Christopher K. Geldmacher of Sauter Sullivan LLC in St. Louis.
