Bryan Cave issued the following announcement on Feb. 20.
Wesley Fields is among a select group of executives named to the Business Journals’ “Influencers: People We're Watching in 2019” list. The list spotlights 100 businesspeople nationwide seen as poised to make headlines this year. Fields is one of just three individuals from Kansas City named to the list.
Fields joined the firm in 1998 as a young associate. Today, he’s managing partner of the Kansas City office while simultaneously managing an active practice in the areas of public finance, corporate transactions and general business matters. Fields has served as lead counsel to the Tax Increment Financing Commission of Kansas City, Mo., for more than 15 years and has participated in structuring and documenting over 100 development and public infrastructure projects in the Kansas City area valued at more than $5 billion. Fields is also deeply involved in the community, particularly with Harvesters Community Food Network, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and Research Medical Hospital.
“Now that I’ve been here 21 years, ascended into the partnership and now into this new role of managing partner, I think it’s helpful when we go out to recruit diverse lawyers to let them know that Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner intends to stand behind its core values of inclusiveness and diversity,” Fields told the Business Journal. “When young, diverse lawyers see what I’ve been able to do with the support of the firm and this office, they will have greater assurance that they can do that and more.”
