JACKSON LEWIS: Jackson Lewis Bolsters Employment Litigation Team with David E. Martin in St. Louis

Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the country’s preeminent workplace law firms, is pleased to announceDavid E. Martin has joined the firm’s St. Louis office as a Principal. Mr. Martin joins the firm from Macy’s, Inc., where he was Vice President of Litigation. He has more than 30 years of experience, primarily focusing on employment litigation and class actions for retail industry clients.

Mr. Martin is a seasoned litigator with extensive experience serving as lead trial and appellate counsel. He frequently defends lawsuits involving wage and hour matters; class, collective, and representative actions; employment arbitration agreements; mass employment arbitrations; real estate matters; and miscellaneous class and complex commercial actions. Mr. Martin also has experience revising company policies and procedures to reflect new developments in the employment laws, including revising arbitration agreements, commission agreements and wage and hour policies.

“David is a skilled litigator with extensive knowledge of employment law in the retail industry,” said St. Louis Office Managing Principal Jessica L. Liss. “After more than two decades as in-house counsel at Macy’s, David brings a unique perspective to the firm that will immediately enhance the firm’s litigation abilities nationally and in St. Louis.”

As former in-house counsel, Mr. Martin advised on matters concerning employment and credit class actions, executive employment agreements and enforcement of the restrictive covenants in those agreements, complex commercial actions, and real estate and construction matters.

Mr. Martin earned his B.A. from Bowdoin College, his M.A. from Washington University in St. Louis and his J.D. Washington University School of Law.
