Missouri Lawyers Media named Husch Blackwell as a recipient of its 2019 Top Legal Innovation Award, recognizing the firm’s Cannabis Law practice. The award series “celebrates excellence in legal innovation… by recognizing attorneys, firms and businesses whose progressive work drives new practice areas, services and business strategies.”
Husch Blackwell’s Cannabis team is led by Denver-based Steve Levine. It is one of the largest such practices in the United States and counts over a dozen Missouri-based lawyers among its approximately 60 lawyers practicing nationwide. The firm advises industry participants and investors and handles mergers and acquisitions, public and private securities offerings, debt and equity financings, corporate restructuring, federal and state regulation, intellectual property, tax, employment and other general corporate law matters. Clients include a range of cannabis-industry operations, including medical and retail centers and cultivators, manufacturers of infused products, testing facilities, marijuana technology companies, landlords, private equity funds, credit unions, and security companies.
