Thompson Coburn LLP issued the following announcement on Dec. 17.
On December 6, Thompson Coburn was recognized as a sustainability leader by the St. Louis Green Business Challenge, a program of the Missouri Botanical Garden to support St. Louis businesses’ sustainability practices. At an awards ceremony held at the St. Louis Zoo, Thompson Coburn was just one of thirteen participating companies across the region who received a Circle of Excellence with Star rating for the 2019 Challenge.
In the program’s 2019 overview, Thompson Coburn highlighted the number of accomplishments and innovations in our St. Louis office, including improving trash-to-recycling ratios, distributing re-usable cups, making real silverware available in kitchen spaces, and more.
“Protecting our environment is so important for the future,” said Chair Tom Minogue, as part of the feature. “That’s why Thompson Coburn is committed to reducing our environmental impact. We now have sustainability groups and initiatives in all of our offices, playing our part in ensuring that the healthy and vibrant world given to us will be passed on to future generations.”
Thompson Coburn counsel Robyn Ast-Gmoser, a member of the Firm’s Sustainability Committee, attended the awards ceremony to represent Thompson Coburn.
More than 230 St. Louis-area companies have participated in the Green Business Challenge since its launch in 2010. Participants are recognized for their voluntary efforts to conserve energy and water, reduce waste through recycling and other practices, advance sustainable transportation options, enhance biodiversity on company property, and educate and engage employees around sustainable thinking and practices.
