Paule, Camazine & Blumenthal P.C. issued the following announcement on Dec. 19.
A reminder from the family law attorneys at Paule, Camazine & Blumenthal.
It’s always around this time of year that we are reminded of children caught in the middle of a contentious divorce. We see letters to Santa from children asking for their parents to get along, for Mom to stop crying, or Dad to stop yelling. They ask for a calm and peaceful holiday with people spending time with their children and families instead of fighting over hours. Children want memories of happiness and peace, not arguing and sadness. Remember it is about the children — let them enjoy you both in peace and allow them to make new, positive memories! Take into account traditions that the children have known and enjoyed for years, while also starting new traditions post-divorce.
Family law attorneys often see people at their worst, but children’s letters to Santa are a reminder of those caught in the middle. Think of them. The holidays are not easy for divorced parents, but neither are they easy for the children. Try your best to put your hurt aside and act in a way that would make them proud and feel secure.
Wishing you a happy holiday season,
