Smith Amundsen LLC issued the following announcement on Feb. 24.

On February 24, 2020, SmithAmundsen promoted five attorneys to partner, including Ronald Balfour, Laura Bonadies, Anne Fishbeck, Kelly Haab-Tallitsch, and Brian Wacker.

Ronald Balfour, Class Action; Commercial Litigation; Data Privacy – Chicago, IL

Ron defends putative class claims involving a wide range of substantive issues, from alleged consumer fraud to breach of contract, to housing and disability discrimination. In addition, Ron helps to resolve business disputes arising out of business relationships, including insurer-agent, corporation-stockholder, and competitor disputes.

Laura Bonadies, Health Care – Indianapolis, IN

Laura defends medical providers, including long-term care facilities, hospitals, individual practitioners, and health care systems. She handles medical malpractice and breach of contract claims and has significant experience in motions practice and mediation. She also assists health care providers in guardianship actions and has represented individual practitioners before the state licensing board.

Anne Fishbeck, Commercial Transportation & Logistics – Chicago, IL

Anne defends clients in contract disputes, personal injury, regulatory compliance, preservation of evidence and risk avoidance in catastrophic loss scenarios.

Kelly Haab-Tallitsch, Labor & Employment – St. Charles, IL
