Husch Blackwell LLP recently issued the following announcement.

Andrew German will co-present at the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel (IDC) webinar, “The Basics of Taking an Effective Fact Witness Deposition in Asbestos Cases & Venue Specific Deposition Tips,” on May 29, 2020.

Depositions are an important part of the litigation process in any case. However, due to the nature of an asbestos-exposure claim, depositions in asbestos cases are often unique in their importance and the challenges they present. The ability to take an effective deposition is crucial to a competent representation of an asbestos client. Illinois and Missouri play host to the most active litigation dockets in the country, yet each venue has different rules, customs, and procedures governing depositions. Speakers will provide general tips for taking an effective deposition in any asbestos case, and then provide venue-specific guidance for depositions that occur in Madison, St. Clair, and Cook counties in Illinois; and in the city of St. Louis, Missouri.
