Award

Polsinelli PC issued the following announcement on Sept. 10.

Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli congratulates Shareholder Kathryn T. Allen and Associate Christine Brady Hoag for being honored with the 2020 “Up & Coming Award” by Missouri Lawyers Media. The award recognizes early-career lawyers who demonstrate professional excellence while making a positive impact on their profession and communities.

Missouri Lawyers Media’s annual “Up & Coming Award” celebrates outstanding legal professionals who are 40 or younger or within their first 10 years of practice. Honorees have demonstrated professional accomplishment, skill and leadership beyond their years, as well as extraordinary commitment to their communities through volunteer service and leadership.

As shareholder and member of Polsinelli’s national Tech Transactions & Data Privacy Practice, Allen focuses on the intersecting areas of information security, technology, and intellectual property protection and monetization. She is a founding member of the firm’s InsurTech practice, a member of the firm’s Women’s Initiative Committee and the Fast Start Committee. Allen created a STEM/Tech start-up package at Polsinelli, where new tech startups with strong female leadership can receive high-quality legal advice for reduced prices during the start-up or seed-funding stage of their business.

“Kathryn stands out as one of the top up and coming technology lawyers in the State of Missouri,” said Polsinelli Kansas City Co-Office Managing Partner Greg Kratofil, Jr. “I have witnessed her leadership and legal skills firsthand. She is an incredibly impressive attorney who is very deserving to be named one Missouri’s ‘Up & Coming’ attorneys. I expect you will see big things from her in the future.”

As a member of Polsinelli’s national Real Estate Finance Practice, Hoag focuses on the national representation of mortgage loan originators in structuring and documenting real estate loans, secured by all types of commercial properties, for lenders’ floating rate programs and for securitization in the CMBS industry. Hoag has been involved in organizations for the advancement of women in the legal field, including Polsinelli’s Women’s Initiative Committee, the National Association of Women Lawyers and the CREFC Women’s Network. Through such organizations, she has dedicated her time and talents to organizations such as CASA (court appointed special advocates for abused or neglected children), The Children’s Place, Operation Breakthrough and Girls on the Run.

“Christine has already established an outstanding career for herself in real estate finance law, and she has demonstrated passionate servant leadership in the broader community,” said Polsinelli Kansas City Co-Office Managing Partner Mary Jane Judy. “Her leadership plays an integral role in our office, particularly among our associates, and we congratulate her on this esteemed professional recognition as an ‘Up & Coming’ attorney. I am eager to see her continue with her successful career at Polsinelli.”
