Polsinelli PC issued the following announcement on Oct. 1.
Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli congratulates Labor & Employment Department Chair Denise Drake for being named to the POWER 30 Employment Law list by Missouri Lawyers Media. The POWER 30 list honors employment attorneys both on the plaintiff-employees’ and defense-employer sides in Missouri.
The POWER LIST takes an in-depth look at practitioners who have won notable jury trials under state and federal anti-discrimination statutes, won class or collective action decisions in court, obtained exceptional settlements on wage-and-hour claims, and established important precedents in appellate courts that continue to shape the law. Attorneys are selected for inclusion based on interviews with attorneys and other leaders around the state, a review of verdicts and settlements, and the Missouri Lawyers’ Media archives.
“Denise sets the bar extremely high in Labor & Employment law making her more than deserving of this recognition,” said Chairman and CEO Chase Simmons. “She has proven to be among the elite and influential lawyers not only in Missouri, but across the country demonstrating dedication to her clients with the highest level of service. We congratulate her on this achievement.”
In addition to her role as Chair of Polsinelli’s national Labor & Employment Department, Drake also serves as Co-Chair of the firm’s Employment Class & Collective Actions Practice and is a member of the firm’s Board of Directors. She leads a national team of labor and employment professionals, developing strategies around hiring and growth initiatives, and overseeing general work product and outcomes that her group produces.
Drake balances her leadership role with a robust client workload. Drake’s practice is significantly focused on advising clients in an effort to avoid litigation and defending employers in disputes, including nationwide class and collective actions, at least one of which was valued at more than $500 million. Drake has obtained verdicts in single plaintiff trials and arbitrations involving allegations of sexual and racial harassment; sex, race, disability and age discrimination; and retaliation and whistleblower claims.
