Polsinelli PC issued the following announcement on Apr. 7.

Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli welcomes construction and real estate attorney Chad Stoker as Counsel in the firm’s Kansas City, Mo. office. Stoker joins the firm’s national Construction Practice within the Real Estate and Financial Services Department, having a deep background in construction law and national security regulatory compliance.

Stoker focuses his construction law practice on the representation of real estate developers, owners, and tenants, providing strategic counsel related to design and construction delivery methods, negotiation of complex design and construction agreements, and dispute resolution in a construction project setting.

Stoker also leverages his prior senior leadership experience in defense industry to advise in ways that are relevant to both business professionals and attorneys. He addresses transactions of varying complexities and brings experience drafting and negotiating design and construction-related contracts, including architect, engineer, construction, and design-build agreements.

“We are pleased to add Chad to our national Construction Practice as he brings practical and relevant experience, and a depth of skills from which our clients across the country will greatly benefit,” said Polsinelli Real Estate and Construction Practice Chair Amy Kiefer Hansen. “Chad’s unique background in the defense industry brings a unique perspective which will greatly benefit our team.”

Stoker’s background includes serving as Division Security Manager for a worldwide contractor in aerospace systems and national security solutions where he was responsible for national security regulatory compliance. He also brings differentiated experience having previously served in several national security compliance and leadership roles for the Department of Defense, Defense Security Service. He started his career in national security as an honor graduate of the United States Air Force Security Police Academy.

“I was attracted to Polsinelli’s national reputation in real estate services and its commitment to client service. I look forward to taking my practice to the next level with my new role at Polsinelli,” said Stoker. “I’m glad to return to my hometown, Kansas City, where the firm’s broad real estate reputation and history began, and I’m eager to connect with some of the best real estate attorneys in the country on the Polsinelli team.”

Stoker was recently named to Super Lawyers: Ones to Watch 2021 list. He earned a B.S. from Wayland Baptist University before receiving a Master of Arts from the University of Phoenix. Stoker obtained a J.D., cum laude, from Southern Methodist University where he was selected to the student board of the SMU Law Review.

Stoker joins Polsinelli’s growing Construction Practice, which recently added a duo of new shareholders in the New York City office earlier this year. Stoker is the first new Kansas City-based attorney for 2021.
