ST. LOUIS - A Mississippi County woman wants payback from Casey's General Store after she was allegedly injured at its Washington St. location in East Prairie, and the gas station chain has levered the case into federal court for defense.

According to a personal injury complaint filed on March 1 in the Mississippi County Circuit Court, plaintiff Angela Abner visited the Casey's at 605 W. Washington St. on January 31, 2020. Abner says she slipped and fell on a mat that was rolled up outside of the store's exit while she was leaving.

The plaintiff allegedly suffered a fractured wrist and other injuries, eventually requiring surgical intervention.

Abner wants at least $25,000 from Casey's for her injuries.

The complaint was removed to the U.S. District Court on April 5.

The plaintiff is represented by the Tarry Law Firm LLC.
