ST. LOUIS - A Phelps County woman is suing the federal government, alleging injury in a 2018 vehicle collision involving a U.S. Postal Service truck, following six months of waiting for the Postal Service to offer a settlement.

The suit was filed by attorney H. Lynn Henry on behalf of plaintiff Charles Robinson in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, according to court documents.

The suit alleges that, on June 15, 2018, Jason R. Wilburn, a Postal Service employee, was operating a Postal Service vehicle westbound on Martin Springs Drive, and turned left in front of Roninson’s eastbound vehicle she was operating. It is alleged that Wilburn failed to keep a careful lookout, failed to yield right-of-way, and failed to stop despite having reasonable opportunity to do so.

In addition to immediate injuries to her head, left eye, neck and back, Robinson alleges in her complaint chronic medical problems associated with the event. They include headaches, blurred vision, numbness of extremities, neck and back pain, as well as anxiety and sleep disturbance.

Robinson is seeking damages, including the estimated $6,902 value of her vehicle, as well as further relief as determined applicable by the court.
