Lawsuit says revolving door at casino took man down

ST. LOUIS -- A man is suing a casino after allegedly being injured when a motorized door malfunctioned. 

Miles Piper filed a complaint on May 20 in Cape Girardeau County Circuit Courtagainst IOC-Cape Girardeau, LLC d/b/a Century Casino Cape Girardeau for negligence.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 5, 2018, Piper was going through a motorized rotating door at the entrance and exit of the casino. Piper alleged that upon going through the door, it malfunctioned and the door struck him, causing him to fall and sustain injury to his right hip and all the bones, muscles, tendons, tissues, joints, ligaments, vessels and nerves. 

Other soft tissues were severely wrenched, twisted, torn, impacted, crushed and otherwise damages causing permanent damage, the suit says.

Piper is represented by Charles R. Wooten. The defendant removed the case to St. Louis federal court on June 22.
