Man sues deodorant company, alleges false and misleading marketing of products

Federal Court
Courtroom

ST. LOUIS -- A man is suing the makers of "Degree" deodorant for false, misleading and deceptive marketing of products.

Drew Huskey filed a complaint on March 8 in the St. Louis County Circuit Court against Conopco, Inc., d.b.a. "Unilever" and Does 1-10 for false, misleading and deceptive marketing practices, breach of warranty, breach of implied contract and unjust enrichment. The defendant removed the case to federal court on June 29.

According to the complaint, Unilever markets and sells many different consumer products, including deodorant and antiperspirant sprays. Such antiperspirant spray products include Degree-branded, "MotionSense," "UltraClear Black + White," and "DrySpray." Huskey alleges that certain products actually cause yellow staining because they contain aluminum chlorohydrate and in fact do the opposite as the label claims.

Huskey seeks the court to force these products to remedy all breaches as well as damages, attorneys' fees and cost of suit. Huskey is represented by Daniel F. Harvath or Harvath Law Group, LLC.
