ST. LOUIS - Ethan N. Vaeth filed a federal complaint on August 27 in the Eastern District of Missouri against Remington Arms Company, LLC, Remington Outdoor Company, Inc., Sporting Goods Properties, Inc. and E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company for strict policy liability, negligence and punitive damages.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 24, 2019, Vaeth was severely injured when a Remington rifle discharged with the safety engaged and without pulling the trigger. The rifle is alleged to have had the Walker fire control system, but it was unreasonably dangerous and defective in that it may, and in this instance did, fire without a trigger pull, according to the lawsuit.

Vaeth seeks general, punitive and special damages. Vaeth is represented by Matthew D. Gleen.
