The Missouri Democratic Party has confirmed to the St. Louis Record that it is in settlement negotiations with former data director Ben Conover.
The negotiations focus on Conover accusing leaders with the Missouri Democratic Party of breaking federal labor law.
"I can definitely confirm we are indeed in settlement negotiations and they (the parties) are in very frequent communication, but it would be inappropriate to comment further on ongoing litigation," Bailey Netsch, managing communications director for the Missouri Democratic Party, said in a statement to the St. Louis Record.
Conover claims that the Missouri Democratic Party broke federal labor law by firing him. He said in the lawsuit filed last year that the Missouri Democratic Party fired him to stop what he said were protected union activities.
