Uber

ST. LOUIS - A Jane Doe filed a complaint on Aug. 30 in St. Louis County Circuit Court against Uber Technologies and John Doe for negligence, negligent hiring and retention, negligent infliction of emotional distress and assault and battery.

Jane Doe alleges that she was sexually assaulted by John Doe on August 2, 2016, while he was acting as an employee of Uber Technologies, Inc. After allegedly picking up Jane Doe, John Doe did agree to stop at a store for Jane Doe to purchase alcohol, despite her already allegedly very intoxicated.

Jane Doe alleges that John Doe drove her to the parking lot of Schmucks Supermarket located on Butler Hill Road, consumed alcohol with her and then sexually assaulted her despite her saying "stop" multiple times.

Doe is represented by Sean M. Flaherty. Uber removed the case to federal court on Sept. 29.
