Husch Blackwell is pleased to announce that partner Kris Kappel of the firm’s Kansas City office has been named by Missouri Lawyers Media as a 2021 Women’s Justice Award honoree in the category of Innovation & Technology.
Kappel, who co-leads the firm’s Intellectual Property (IP) practice, helps clients manage and protect their intellectual property and data and use their IP assets strategically. Her clients span a wide range of industries, including airlines, biotechnology, energy and biofuels, agricultural chemistry, cannabis and industrial hemp, chemical compounds, compositions and processes, software, healthcare and mechanical devices. She has prepared and prosecuted numerous patents and is a noted speaker and presenter on IP topics.
Missouri Lawyers Media’s annual Women’s Justice Awards celebrate women across Missouri who have demonstrated leadership, integrity, service, sacrifice and accomplishment in improving the quality of justice and exemplifying the highest ideals of the legal profession.. The Innovation & Technology Award is given to women (who) advise companies, startups and entrepreneurs with legal issues regarding intellectual property, technology and other aspects of their business. This year’s WJA honorees were honored at an October 21, 2021 event.
