Hamilton Again Nominated to Fill Vacancy on Missouri Court of Appeals

General court 06

Heplerbroom issued the following announcement on Dec. 3.

Kathleen Hamilton is once again one of three nominees submitted to Governor Parson to fill a vacancy on the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District. Along with numerous other candidates, Hamilton applied for the opening on the court and was interviewed by the Non-Partisan Court Plan Commission, which is comprised of three lawyers, three lay people, and the Chief Justice of the Missouri Supreme Court. As required by the Non-Partisan Court Plan, the Commission chooses three of the candidates to nominate and submit to the Governor. The Governor then undertakes a further vetting process and determines which of the nominees to appoint to the court.

Hamilton, a St. Charles County resident, is a partner in the firm’s St. Louis office and focuses her practice on general trial litigation and insurance defense. She has also successfully handled numerous appellate cases. She earned her J.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law in 2002 and also holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and English from the University of Notre Dame. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the state bar associations of Illinois and Missouri and speaks and writes regularly on numerous legal topics. In addition, she has been named a Rising Star by Missouri and Kansas Super Lawyers.
