ST. LOUIS - Ashley Bonds filed a federal lawsuit on Nov. 18 in the Eastern District of Missouri against Tabletops Unlimited, Inc. d/b/a TTU for strict products liability - manufacturing, failure to warn and/or design defect, negligence and breach of implied warranty.

According to the complaint, TTU designs, manufactures, markets, imports, distributes and sells the Phillippe Richard Pressure Cooker. On Nov. 28, 2016, Bonds was using a Phillippe Richard Pressure Cooker when the lid suddenly and unexpectedly exploded off the pressure cooker’s pot, and its contents were ejected from the cooker onto Bonds.

Bonds was caused to suffer significant and painful bodily injuries in the form of burns, medical expenses, wage loss, physical pain, disfigurement, mental anguish, and diminished enjoyment of life, the suit says.

Bonds seeks a judgement to recover all damages including general damages and special damages of economic and non-economic compensation, that all costs be taxed and attorney's fees. Bonds is represented by Matthew J. Devoti of Casey, Devoti and Brockland in St. Louis.
