Courtgavel456

ST. LOUIS - Kenneth Leverette and Mackcus Maccabee filed a federal lawsuit on Nov. 16 in the Eastern District of Missouri against Annie Malone Children and Family Service Center.

According to the complaint, on March 1, 2020, eight individuals began an altercation with staff, including Leverette and Maccabee, in which both Plaintiffs were beaten and injured.

Leverette and Maccabee allege that Annie Malone Children and Family Service Center should have known that since it was offering programs for abused and previously violent individuals, security measures should have been taken. The lawsuit says the defendant had a legal duty to provide adequate staffing and security to protect invitees on the premises and should have adequately trained employees.

Leverette and Maccabee were caused to suffer severe and permanent injuries to the mouth, jaw, face, head, wrist and hands, disability and disfigurement, physical pain, mental anguish, medical expenses, hospital and pharmaceutical expenses, lost wages and loss in the ability to enjoy a normal life

Leverette and Maccabee seek a judgment for an amount in excess of $75,000 each plus cost of suit. Leverette and Maccabee are presented by Jeffrey A. Kopis of Jerome, Salmi and Kopis, LLC for Fairview Heights, Ill.
