Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale, P.C. issued the following announcement on Dec. 13.
The International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) recently selected Greensfelder attorney Lauren Daming as a member of the advisory board overseeing the Certified Information Privacy Professional/US Credential (CIPP/US) exam. Her role on the CIPP/US Exam Development Board will be in effect from 2022 to 2024.
The IAPP was founded in 2000 as a non-profit and continues to serve as the premier source for privacy information and resources worldwide. The organization’s CIPP/US certification serves as the gold standard among professionals seeking to demonstrate their understanding of U.S. privacy laws and regulations. Daming received the CIPP/US designation in early 2021, reflecting her knowledge of global concepts related to privacy and data protection law. As a board member overseeing the CIPP/US exam, she will help ensure the quality of future updates that adhere to the IAPP’s high standards.
Daming’s experience as an attorney in Greensfelder’s Employment & Labor practice group has provided her with extensive knowledge on how privacy concerns intersect with the workplace. Employer privacy issues she has handled include privacy torts; pre-employment concerns such as background checks, drug testing, and interview best practices; medical screenings and employer obligations under the ADA and GINA; employee monitoring and surveillance; and employee data collection including biometrics.
