Success stairs

Missouri Bar issued the following announcement on Jan. 6.

Two vacancies exist on the Young Lawyers' Section (YLS) Council. The vacancies are in District 3 (Jackson County – the candidate must be elected from Jackson County outside of Kansas City limits), and in District 12 (Benton, Camden, Dallas, Hickory, Laclede, Maries, Miller, Morgan, Pettis, Phelps, Polk, Pulaski and Texas Counties). The YLS Council will fill these vacancies by majority vote.

The terms for both council seats will end September 2023, to fill the remaining time left of two-year terms. The individuals who fill each vacancy, if still eligible, may then run for a full two-year term (2023-2025) in the next general election.

The council requests that those interested in serving complete the nominating petition and file it with Brett Rolwes, The Missouri Bar YLS liaison, by Monday, Jan. 31. The council invites those who file to include a resume and brief statement explaining their interest in serving on the YLS Council. All eligible petitions received will be submitted to the YLS Council for consideration, and the new representatives will be elected by the council in July.

Information about the council is available at https://mobar.org/site/content/About/Young_Lawyers_Section.aspx.

If you would like further information or have any questions, please contact Brett Rolwes at (573) 635-4128 or yls@mobar.org.
