Woman brings suit against former employer for discrimination after being terminated

Federal Court
Courtgavel333

ST. LOUIS - Kimberly I. Riley filed a lawsuit on Nov. 10 in St. Louis County Circuit Court against Equifax Inc. for disability discrimination in violation of the Missouri Human Rights Act.

According to the lawsuit, Riley had been an employee of Equifax's from 2017 until Dec. 4, 2020, when she was terminated after being on a temporary layoff. Riley had in 2018 and 2019 been diagnosed with breast cancer and had to take some time off but was able to come back to work and perform 75% of her duties and meet, or went over meeting, her quotas each month, the suit says. Riley claims that she was terminated because of her disability.

Riley was caused to suffer damages of past and prospective losses in pay and benefits. Riley is represented by David M. Heimos of Clayton.

Equifax recently removed the case to St. Louis federal court.
