ST. LOUIS - Fontania Lawrence recently filed a lawsuit in St. Louis City Circuit Court against Fairfield Processing Corporation and Venture Express for negligence,
According to the complaint, on Dec. 19, 2019, Lawrence was attempting to disconnect a ramp attaching a commercial vehicle owned by Venture from the loading dock attached to premises when the driver, not knowing that she was still half inside of the vehicle, began driving off.
Lawrence was forced to jump from the moving truck to the loading dock area as to avoid falling between the truck and dock, the suit says. She was caused to suffer physical pain and injury when she landed by hyperextending her left knee and pulling and tearing the ligaments and tendons attached, the suit says.
The defendant on Dec. 15 removed the case to St. Louis federal court. Lawrence is represented by John S. Appelbaum Jr. of the Cagle Law Firm.
