Woman missing arm sues former employer for discrimination

ST. LOUIS - Marie Green filed a lawsuit on Oct. 1 in the St. Louis County Circuit Court against Blue Circle Rehab and Nursing for race-based employment discrimination.

According to the lawsuit, Green was employed with the Defendant starting in May 2020, but during the term of her employment she alleges to have experienced discrimination. Green, who is disabled with after losing her right arm in a car accident in 1998.

The suit says she was asked to work multiple 15-hour shifts in a row, without 12 hours in between to rest. Green alleges that she was terminated after not being able to work the third 15-hour shift in a row at 70 years old due to her skin blistering and her needing rest. 

Green seeks an order awarding her lost pay, pre-judgment interest, fringe benefits, front pay, back pay, cost of action and attorney's fees. Green is represented by Andrew D. Sandroni. 

The defendant removed the case to St. Louis federal court in December.
