Woman sues Family Video for broken ankle

ST. LOUIS - Rosemarie Waddy filed a lawsuit recently in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Highland Ventures, LTD. d/b/a Family Video and Keith Hoogland Limited Partnership for negligence.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 20, 2019, Waddy was on the premises of Family Video when her foot became stuck in cracked, broken and uneven concrete in the parking lot that was not blocked off to keep customers safe from the hazard. 

Waddy was caused to suffer serious physical injury including a broken right ankle, injury to her hip, back and joints, disability, pain and suffering.

Waddy seeks an amount in excess of $50,000, plus costs and prejudgment interest. Waddy is represented by Justin C. Wilson of Brown and Crouppen, P.C.

The defendant removed the case to St. Louis federal court on Jan. 3.
