ST. LOUIS - Jules Mgimbi filed a federal lawsuit on Dec. 29 in the Missouri Eastern District Court against Alejandro Mayorkas as Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, and Kenneth S. Madsen as Director of USCIS Chicago Asylum Office.
According to the lawsuit, Mgimbi is the applicant on a pending Application for Political Asylum (Form I-589) filed on July 29, 2013. Mgimbi alleges he was interviewed on Aug. 21, 2014 and has yet to hear on a decision in regard to his application.
Mgimbi sees for the court to compel defendants to perform their duty and act upon a decision regarding his application. Mgimbi is represented by Timothy E. Wichmer of Wichmer and Groneck, LLC.
