Hotel sued for racial discrimination by former employee

Lawsuits

ST. LOUIS - Tracey Cross filed a lawsuit in November in St. Louis County Circuit Court against Hotel Equities Group, LLC d/b/a Springhill Suites St. Louis for race and age discrimination.

According to the lawsuit, Cross was hired by Defendant to work at the front desk on May 30, 2019. Cross claims that during her employment, the general manager and another supervisor subjected her to race-based discrimination and she was ultimately terminated due to the discrimination. 

Cross was caused to suffer emotional distress, pain and suffering and lost wages, the suit says

Cross seeks an amount in excess of $25,000.00 but less than $74,999.99, pre-and post-judgment interest, costs of action, reimbursement of back pay with interest, emotional distress, pain and suffering, reinstatement and/or front pay and attorneys’ fees. Cross is represented by Anthony S. Bretz of Bretz Legal, LLC.

The defendant has removed the case to federal court.
